Counterview Desk
Counterview regrets publishing the news story "NEET scam: Probe sought into private co's role in manipulating medical entrance exam" on June 27, 2024. The story has been removed from our website. It was published on the basis of a press note issued at a press conference. M/s Innovatiview India Ltd. feels that the story contains unsubstantiated and baseless allegations against the company maliciously linking it to the alleged manipulation of the NEET exam. We have no reason to doubt that.
The company, it notes, is in the business of providing security surveillance and ancillary services to all its clients comprising government(s)/semi-government(s)/public and private sector for the last 10 years across India and there have never been any instance of questionable integrity against our Client rather our Client holds an impeccable record in rendition of services in the examination sector.
The company also feels the story in question falsely insinuates that it is involved in unethical or illegal activities, which is not only devoid of factual basis. NEET was under scrutiny of the highest court of this country and the Supreme Court had not mentioned any deficiency of services or any type of foul play on the part of the company.
We would like to make it clear that Counterview has no personal agenda and motive in defaming the company. It was published on the basis of a press note it received following a press conference. We apologize for the inconvenience, if any, caused the company. We agree that it should have been published after proper verification of facts was done and an opportunity to clarify the company's stand.
We would like to underline that Counterview is not a media house. It is an individual-run news blog run on a purely voluntary basis without any monetary support, where stories are used on receiving press notes and articles for publishing. If we had received a press note from M/s Innovatiview India Ltd., we would have gladly published it as well. We are ready to do it even now.
We have no reason to question the company's empanelment for the purpose of NEET examination, which was done through the publication of tender wherein only the eligible and successful bidder qualifying on both the financial and technical terms on the basis of its past experience in conducting examinations is an integral and the most important ground for empanelment.
